Seventeen year old, ex Kings’ School pupil, Kyle has recently joined Anchor as a Mechanical Apprentice in November of this year. This week we asked Kyle what made him want to become an apprentice and he said that when he was younger he used to go on jobs with his dad. Kyle explained, ” I would watch my dad and thought his job as a fitter was really interesting. I used to ask him when I could start a job like his. So I was really pleased when I saw an opportunity come up at Anchor.”

Kyle has already got off to a great start with his first job working alongside experienced engineer, Jason Willmore, replacing a domestic cylinder in a house in Chandlers Ford. Now he is settled into his new role Kyle is looking to the future and continues, “I really like fitting the most and want to develop my skills in this area. I’m into heavy lifting on big projects with a big impact. My long term aim is to be a better fitter than my dad!”
